Porter, a leading logistics provider, has extended its services to Kanpur, furthering its expansion in Tier-II and Tier-III markets. The company’s goal is to facilitate efficient and seamless goods transportation through its diverse range of vehicles.
Kanpur’s strategic position, situated at the crossroads of major highways and railways, positions it as a crucial transit point for goods and materials. Additionally, its proximity to the upcoming Delhi-Kolkata Industrial Corridor (DKI) and the Uttar Pradesh Expressway Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA) nodes makes Porter’s entry into the city a strategic move to enhance logistics connectivity and attract more capital investments.
Porter intends to onboard over 600 driver-partners to manage intracity logistics services in Kanpur. This figure is anticipated to exceed 3,000 by the end of the first operational year, resulting in direct and indirect employment for over 12,000 individuals and targeting a customer base of 20,000 within the first year.
Porter’s expansion to Kanpur marks its presence in 20 cities across India. The company aims to extend its reach to 35 cities within the next two years, concentrating on enhancing its footprint in Tier-II and Tier-III cities.
