A convoy consisting of nine trucks has set out from Urumqi in Xinjiang, China, with Novosibirsk in Russia as its destination. The journey covers a distance of 2,250 km and is expected to take six days, with a transit through Mongolia.
This convoy serves as a trial run for Asia Highway 4 (AH4), which is the second international road connection linking China, Mongolia, and Russia. It is part of a broader initiative to promote trade in energy and natural resources across these countries, with Mongolia included in a trilateral agreement to establish a new model of regional cooperation.
Mongolia, situated as a transportation hub, is strengthening its partnerships with China and Russia, particularly in terms of cross-border connectivity. This initiative aims to enhance trade ties between China and Russia, extending from the Russian Far East to central Eurasia.
