DB Schenker, a leading logistics company, is making strategic moves to support its growth plans in the UK. They have announced the relocation of their operations to Trafford Park, Manchester, where they will unveil a state-of-the-art facility encompassing nearly 50,000 square feet of warehousing and office space later this year.
This new site will play a pivotal role in accommodating DB Schenker’s expanding services in air, ocean, land, and contract logistics throughout the region. The facility will be equipped with advanced features, including an X-ray machine for airfreight screening and dedicated areas for consolidating shipments across various transport modes.
Moreover, the company is committed to sustainability, with plans to cover 50 percent of the facility’s roof with solar panels and provide electric charging points for both their trucks and staff vehicles.
DB Schenker also aims to create job opportunities across a range of roles, reinforcing their support for apprenticeships in the UK. According to Adrian Jennings, DB Schenker’s Ocean Director for the UK and Ireland, this move reflects their dedication to investing in infrastructure and people.
