High-level meeting held to resolve issues and fast-track energy and telecom projects across Gujarat and Rajasthan.

A high-level meeting on 3 July reviewed critical infrastructure projects worth over ₹36,296 crore in Gujarat and Rajasthan, focusing on swift issue resolution through the Project Monitoring Group (PMG) mechanism.
The review covered 18 projects, with 22 issues taken up for fast-tracking. A key highlight was the ₹14,147 crore Transmission System Strengthening Scheme, aimed at evacuating solar power from renewable energy zones in Jaisalmer, Bikaner, Barmer (Rajasthan) and Surendranagar, Patan, Kutch (Gujarat). The project seeks to expand high-capacity transmission infrastructure and boost national grid integration.
The meeting also addressed Reliance Jio’s 5G/4G network expansion in remote areas, tagged as a national priority. Discussions focused on expediting forest clearance and improving rural digital reach.
The session was chaired by Principal Economic Adviser Praveen Mahto, who stressed stronger inter-agency coordination and proactive use of the PMG platform by private players to ensure timely execution of high-impact projects.
