WFS wins a renewed three-year deal with Air China Cargo, boosting e-commerce cargo handling at Liège Airport.

Worldwide Flight Services (WFS), part of SATS, has secured a three-year contract extension with Air China Cargo in Liège, driven by its strong track record in managing e-commerce shipments through the Belgian hub.
Under the agreement, WFS will continue providing ramp and warehouse handling for cargo on Air China Cargo’s Boeing 777 and Airbus A330 freighter services from Chengdu, Hangzhou, and Shanghai. These operations handle high inbound e-commerce volumes and growing demand for general cargo exports from Belgium to China.
The partnership is contributing to Liège Airport’s expanding cargo profile, which saw a 16% year-on-year volume rise in 2024. Growth has continued into 2025, with 6,772 cargo flights in Q1, up 6.2%, alongside a 5.6% increase in freight throughput.
Marc Claesen, Senior Vice President Commercial EMEAA at WFS, said the extension reflects the strong partnership between the two companies, supported by WFS’s investment in facilities and tailored e-commerce handling capabilities at its 12,000 sqm Liège facility.
