The Union Cabinet is set to approve the creation of 12 industrial parks across Bihar, Andhra Pradesh, and Punjab, with an investment of ₹25,000 crore.
The Union Cabinet is expected to soon green-light a major development initiative involving the creation of 12 new industrial parks across Bihar, Andhra Pradesh, and Punjab, with an estimated cost of ₹25,000 crore. This initiative, anticipated to attract investments totaling ₹1.5 trillion, is poised to drive substantial industrial growth and economic development in these states.
These integrated ‘industrial cities’ will feature residential and commercial zones and are part of the government’s broader strategy to boost foreign investment, enhance domestic manufacturing capabilities, and create employment opportunities. The proposal follows Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman’s Budget announcement last month, which outlined the development of ‘plug and play’ industrial parks under the National Industrial Corridor Development programme.
The parks will focus on diverse sectors including technical textiles, electric vehicles, aero logistics, and food processing. Set for completion over the next three years, the development aims to mirror successful models like Greater Noida’s integrated industrial township and Gujarat’s Dholera special investment region. The Gaya industrial node, in particular, will serve as a model for blending India’s cultural heritage with economic growth, embodying the theme ‘Vikas bhi Virasat bhi’.
