Thales has appointed Ankur Kanaglekar as Vice-President India to strengthen its role in defence and digital sectors.

Thales announced the appointment of Ankur Kanaglekar as Vice-President for India, effective 10 September 2025. The move reflects the company’s focus on expanding its footprint in the country, reinforcing partnerships, and advancing innovation aligned with the Aatmanirbhar Bharat vision.
In his new role, Ankur will lead Thales’ strategy and operations across defence, aerospace, cyber, and digital domains. His mandate includes deepening industrial collaboration, boosting local innovation, and delivering advanced technological solutions tailored to India’s needs.
Ankur brings over 25 years of experience in aerospace, defence, and consulting. He previously spent 14 years at Boeing India, where he held leadership roles including Executive Director.
At Boeing, he drove co-development and co-production of defence platforms, led major sales campaigns, and championed localisation under the Make in India initiative. Earlier, he served as Engagement Manager at PRTM Consulting (now PwC), advising Fortune 500 firms on mergers, acquisitions, and operational strategies.
Welcoming him, Pascale Sourisse, President & CEO, Thales International, said his expertise will help strengthen Thales’ commitment to India’s self-reliance goals.
