Thales and Garuda Aerospace partner to advance drone technology and innovation in India
Thales and Garuda Aerospace have entered a strategic collaboration to enhance India’s drone ecosystem through a newly signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This partnership aims to promote growth and innovation within the drone sector in India.
Under the agreement, Thales will bring its expertise in Unmanned Traffic Management (UTM) solutions, UAV detection, and system integration. Garuda Aerospace will contribute its skills in UAV manufacturing and its deep knowledge of the Indian market. This collaboration seeks to provide a platform for the development of advanced drone solutions, ensuring safe and secure drone operations across the country.
Established in 2015, Garuda Aerospace is a key player in the Indian drone industry, with a fleet of over 2500 drones and 4000 pilots. Thales, a global leader in aerospace, is recognised for its advanced UAV solutions and strategic UTM capabilities. The MoU, set to take effect in August 2024, aligns with India’s vision of becoming a major global hub for drones by 2030.
