Teleport, the prominent logistics venture supported by Capital A Berhad, has officially introduced its first Airbus A321 Freighter (A321F) into its air logistics fleet. With this addition, Teleport further solidifies its market leadership in terms of air cargo volume across Southeast Asia. Founded in 2018, the company has experienced accelerated growth, attributed to its extensive air logistics network utilising surplus belly space from AirAsia passenger aircraft, a focus on digitisation and data for streamlined e-commerce deliveries, and the expansion of partnerships with third-party airlines. Presently, over 1,500 businesses rely on Teleport for their goods’ transportation to over 80 destinations in Southeast Asia.
Teleport’s Chief Executive Officer, Pete Chareonwongsak, expressed enthusiasm, stating, “Today marks the arrival of the number one air logistics company in Southeast Asia.” He emphasised the company’s profitability and projected annual revenue of $200 million, underscoring the significance of this milestone alongside the arrival of the first A321F. Teleport aims to capitalise on the new freighters, expand market share across Southeast Asia, India, China, Asia Pacific, and venture into new markets, including Africa. The company plans to acquire two more A321Fs in the coming years.
The induction of Teleport’s A321F is the result of collaborative efforts within the Capital A Group, enabling the optimisation of resources and operations. Tony Fernandes, CEO of Capital A Berhad, expressed confidence in Teleport’s future and its role as a reliable delivery partner within the air logistics industry. With the expanded fleet, Teleport strengthens its dominant position in Southeast Asia, offering increased capacity, flexibility, and an extensive network for diverse cargo transportation needs.
