SriLankan Cargo earns ISO certification for cargo operations at Bandaranaike International Airport.

SriLankan Cargo, the freight division of SriLankan Airlines, has been awarded the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System certification for its ground handling operations at Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA). Granted by the Sri Lanka Standards Institution (SLSI), the certification confirms compliance with globally recognised standards in cargo terminal activities, including import/export handling, warehousing, and documentation.
Chaminda Perera, Head of Cargo at SriLankan Airlines, highlighted the significance of this milestone, attributing it to the consistent efforts of the cargo and ground operations teams. “This reflects our ongoing commitment to delivering efficient, safe, and customer-centric cargo services,” he noted.
The ISO 9001:2015 standard emphasises quality management principles such as leadership, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement. SriLankan Cargo’s certified services cover a range of operations including export acceptance, import delivery, transit cargo, and the handling of specialised shipments like perishables, live animals, and hazardous goods.
This recognition supports SriLankan Cargo’s long-term strategy to strengthen service quality and bolster Sri Lanka’s role as a regional air logistics hub.
