New skilling programme to train, certify, and place 2,000 semi-skilled candidates in logistics roles within 18 months

Softlink Global has signed an MoU with Mumbai Rozgaar to build India’s first complete talent pipeline focused on freight forwarding and logistics operations. The collaboration aims to address the sector’s frontline staffing gap while providing structured career opportunities to semi-skilled job seekers.
The programme will offer certified three-month internships on live logistics platforms, followed by role-specific training for positions such as Documentation Executive, Operations Coordinator, and Warehouse Assistant. Participants will receive placement support across Softlink’s network of over 800 client companies in India, the Middle East, and Africa. The goal is to place 2,000 candidates within 18 months.
The initiative will run under Softlink Academy, targeting youth through vocational institutes, community centres, and employment exchanges. The first training cohort begins in August 2025, with employer slot bookings already open.
Amit Maheshwari, CEO of Softlink Global, highlighted the sector’s urgent need for skilled manpower and the role this programme plays in bridging that gap. Alan Castelino of Mumbai Rozgaar emphasised the potential to uplift underserved communities through meaningful employment.
