Tideworks Technology, a full-service provider of comprehensive terminal operating system (TOS) solutions, today announced that Santa Marta International Terminal Company (SMITCO), a container terminal operator based in Santa Marta, Colombia, is now live with Tideworks’ next-generation marine TOS solution, Mainsail 10.
SMITCO successfully upgraded from Tideworks’ legacy Mainsail solution to the advanced Mainsail 10, offering terminal operators more flexibility through a highly configurable user experience, intelligent third-party integration capabilities, and increased visibility to improve decision-making with responsive and powerful reporting. This milestone marks nearly 15 years of partnership between Tideworks and the terminal. This go-live is also Tideworks’ 15th successful implementation of Mainsail 10.
“SMITCO moves the third largest cargo volume in Colombia, making it essential for us to have technology that streamlines operations and helps us evolve to meet the needs of the global supply chain,” said Juanita del Castillo, General manager of SMITCO.
Mainsail 10 integrates seamlessly with third-party systems and offers SMITCO a high-performance management tool that the terminal can scale as operations shift. As a gateway for trade between South America, North America, and Europe, SMITCO’s use of Mainsail 10 will help the terminal manage fluctuating cargo volumes from various supply chain stakeholders.
“We’re proud to continue the global momentum of Mainsail 10 and support SMITCO’s critical operations across the region,” said Thomas Rucker, President of Tideworks Technology.
SMITCO is a joint venture between Sociedad Portuaria de Santa Marta and Tideworks’ sister company, SSA Marine, which includes SSA International, the world’s largest private operator of marine terminals.
