Commerce Minister begins visit to Switzerland and Sweden to boost bilateral trade, investment, and strategic partnerships.

Commerce and Industry Minister Shri Piyush Goyal has begun a five-day official visit to Switzerland and Sweden to enhance India’s economic partnerships with the two European nations. The visit, scheduled from June 9 to 13, is aimed at strengthening bilateral trade, boosting investments, and exploring collaborative opportunities in innovation and sustainability.
In Switzerland, Goyal will hold sector-focused meetings with global CEOs and industry leaders in fields such as pharma, life sciences, and high-tech manufacturing. He will also meet Federal Councillor Guy Parmelin and attend Swissmem Industry Day and a Business Round Table with the MEM Industry, focusing on the India-EFTA TEPA agreement.
In Sweden, the minister will co-chair the 21st Indo-Swedish Joint Commission session with Benjamin Dousa, besides holding talks with senior Swedish officials. Key engagements include an India-Sweden Business Leaders’ Round Table and interactions with top Swedish firms like Ericsson, IKEA, and SAAB.
The visit also includes outreach to the Indian diaspora and media, reinforcing economic and cultural ties.
