New pact boosts cargo routes between Asia, Europe, and the Middle East, with Riyadh-Budapest flights set to debut.

Saudia Cargo and China Cargo Airlines have signed a landmark agreement aimed at enhancing global air freight connectivity across Asia, the Middle East, and Europe. The partnership introduces expanded cargo services along critical trade routes, underscoring both carriers’ focus on strengthening global commerce and supporting Saudi Arabia’s goal of becoming a top-tier logistics hub.
Key elements of the agreement include increased cargo frequencies between Riyadh and Shanghai, and expanded links to European destinations. A major development is the introduction of a direct cargo route between Riyadh and Budapest — the first of its kind — designed to deepen trade relations with European markets and lay the groundwork for future expansion into Africa.
The collaboration also promises end-to-end logistics solutions, including cold chain capabilities and efficient road freight services.
According to Saudia Cargo’s CEO and Managing Director Loay Mashabi, the partnership reflects a shared commitment to innovation, network expansion, and enhanced supply chain efficiency, and builds upon a Memorandum of Understanding signed earlier this year.
