Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya holds convocation; ministers highlight logistics as key to India’s growth and security.

The third convocation of Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya (GSV) was held in Vadodara with Defense Minister Shri Rajnath Singh addressing the event virtually. He underscored the vital role of logistics in national development, calling it a game-changer for 21st-century India. Stressing its strategic importance, he stated, “Stronger the logistics, stronger the borders,” highlighting how the timely supply of defence equipment boosts soldiers’ morale.
Shri Singh urged the youth to take responsibility in shaping a developed India and praised government efforts like multimodal transport hubs and mission-mode schemes that have lowered logistics costs and improved decision-making.
Union Railway Minister and GSV Chancellor Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw highlighted Indian Railways’ transformation, noting a 5,300 km rail expansion and 368 km of tunnels added in the past year. He positioned GSV as a key driver for creating skilled talent and proposed research in marine engineering.
A total of 194 students were awarded degrees, with special awards presented for academic excellence and innovation. The event was also attended by dignitaries, including Vadodara MP Dr. Hemang Joshi and senior officials. GSV, envisioned by PM Modi, aims to drive integrated infrastructure planning under the PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan.
