Qatar Airways Cargo has reinstated its freighter operations to Bahrain, effective September 1st. Alongside its 21 weekly narrowbody passenger flights to Bahrain, the airline is now operating three weekly freighter services, injecting over 200 tonnes of weekly cargo capacity to and from the region. Liesbeth Oudkerk, Senior Vice President of Cargo Sales and Network Planning, expressed the airline’s satisfaction in re-establishing consistent freighter services to Bahrain, emphasising its significance in enhancing economic and trade relations between Qatar and Bahrain.
Imports to Bahrain primarily include general cargo and perishables like fruits, vegetables, and meat, while exports encompass general cargo and dangerous goods. Qatar Airways Cargo currently serves 24 Middle Eastern destinations with both freighter and passenger bellyhold flights, offering a combined weekly cargo capacity exceeding 4,500 tonnes to and from the Middle East.
