Progota India earns RDSO approval for Kavach 4.0, marking a major step towards enhancing India’s rail safety and indigenous tech capability.

In a major boost to India’s rail safety mission, Concord Control Systems (BSE: CNCRD) announced that its associate company, Progota India, has received the Technical Prototype Clearance from the Research Designs and Standards Organisation (RDSO) for Kavach 4.0, the latest version of the Indian Railways’ Automatic Train Protection (ATP) system. The clearance was awarded in Lucknow on 28 October 2025.
The approval now enables Progota to execute its ongoing trial order with South Central Railway, marking a turning point in its journey as it is now recognised as a developmental vendor for all upcoming Kavach 4.0 tenders across Indian Railways. This milestone positions Progota among a select group of companies authorised to support the nationwide rollout of this critical safety system.
Kavach 4.0 introduces advanced collision-avoidance capabilities, enhanced communication between locomotives and trackside equipment, and stronger operational reliability. The RDSO certification validates Progota’s engineering strength and adherence to stringent Ministry of Railways standards.
“Receiving the RDSO prototype clearance for Kavach 4.0 is a proud milestone,” said Nitin Jain, Joint Managing Director, Concord Control Systems. “This reflects our commitment to the government’s vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat, delivering indigenous technologies that enhance efficiency and safety across India’s railway network.”
