In a significant development for logistics at Prayagraj Airport, the state government has allocated Rs.173 crores for its expansion. This expansion aims to boost the airport’s capacity to handle passengers and aircraft, making it more logistics-ready in preparation for the Maha Kumbh in 2025.
Crucially, the enhancement focuses on increasing the number of aerobridges from two to six. This upgrade positions Prayagraj Airport as the first airport in Uttar Pradesh with six boarding bridges, further improving logistics and passenger convenience.
The ambitious expansion is set to be completed within just 15 months. With a new building connecting to the main terminal, the airport’s total area will expand from 6,700 to 9,500 square meters. Once completed, the airport will accommodate seven large and eight small aircraft simultaneously.
