Centre reviews mega projects in AP and TN, addressing land and clearance issues to fast-track infrastructure rollout.

The Project Monitoring Group (PMG) under DPIIT conducted a high-level review to accelerate nine critical infrastructure projects worth over ₹4,904 crore in Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu. The session aimed at resolving inter-ministerial and inter-governmental hurdles, with a focus on faster implementation.
A key project reviewed was the ₹1,732 crore Multi-Product Pipeline from Irugur (Tamil Nadu) to Devangonthi (Karnataka), which spans several districts across both states. Land acquisition and forest clearance issues in Tamil Nadu were prioritised to prevent delays.
The meeting also addressed Reliance Jio’s 5G/4G network expansion in underserved and strategic regions, including Siachen. Pending forest and wildlife clearances were reviewed in coordination with state authorities to enable timely rollout of digital infrastructure.
Chaired by Praveen Mahto, Principal Economic Advisor, DPIIT, the meeting included officials from central ministries, state governments, and private sector participants. Mahto stressed the importance of collaboration and urged stakeholders to utilise the PMG portal to swiftly resolve implementation bottlenecks.
