Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone and inaugurated multiple development projects worth over Rs 19,600 crores, spanning sectors such as oil & gas, railways, road, transport & highways, and atomic energy.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi marked a significant milestone in the development landscape by initiating and dedicating projects worth over ₹19,600 crores in Chandikhole, Odisha. Addressing the gathering, he attributed the commencement of a new phase of development to the blessings of Lord Jagannath and Maa Birja.
The Prime Minister emphasised the transformative impact of inaugurating and laying the foundation stone for mega projects valued at about ₹20,000 crores. The sectors covered include petroleum, natural gas, atomic energy, roadways, railways, and connectivity. These projects are anticipated to stimulate industrial activities and generate employment opportunities, aligning with the government’s commitment to Viksit Bharat.
PM Modi inaugurated a 344 km long product pipeline from Paradip, Odisha, to Haldia, West Bengal, aiming to enhance connectivity. The Indian Oil Corporation’s Mono Ethylene Glycol project in Paradip Refinery and a 0.6 MMTPA LPG Import facility at Paradip were also inaugurated, promising revolutionary changes in the region’s polyester industry.
The Prime Minister dedicated various road infrastructure projects, including the four-laning of Singhara to Binjabahal Section of NH-49, Binjabahal to Tileibani Section of NH-49, Balasore-Jharpokharia Section of NH-18, and Tangi-Bhubaneswar Section of NH-16. Additionally, he laid the foundation stone for the eight-laning of Chandikhole – Paradip Section.
In the railway sector, PM Modi inaugurated the 162 Km Bansapani – Daitari – Tomka – Jakhapura Rail Line, boosting transportation efficiency for Iron and Manganese ore. Other railway projects included the inauguration of the CONCOR Container Depot in Kalinga Nagar and the Electric Loco Periodical Overhauling Workshop at Narla.
The Prime Minister also unveiled a 5 MLD capacity seawater desalination plant at Odisha Sands Complex of IREL(I), a project aligned with indigenous desalination technologies developed by the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre. The projects collectively signify a leap towards sustainable development and economic progress in the region.
