DHL Express has named Mustafa Tonguç as the Managing Director of DHL Express Germany. Tonguç, who previously held the position of Managing Director of DHL Express in Turkey, assumed his new role in June. He succeeds Markus Reckling, who has transitioned to a role in the divisional board of Post & Parcel Germany. Tonguç will report directly to John Pearson, the CEO of DHL Express.
Having started his career with Deutsche Post DHL Group in 1997, Tonguç has held various roles within the hubs and gateways organisation, including the Leipzig hub. His leadership experience includes serving as the Managing Director of Performance and Programs Europe, where he focused on enhancing service quality within the European Express organisation.
Under Tonguç’s leadership, DHL Express Turkey achieved significant successes, such as the implementation of cutting-edge operational infrastructure and the enhancement of service quality. Tonguç played a pivotal role in the successful launch of one of the most technologically advanced DHL Express facilities at Istanbul’s new airport. Additionally, he led the Turkish sales team to drive substantial commercial growth, transforming Turkey into one of the most profitable countries in Europe.
In his new role as Managing Director of DHL Express Germany, Tonguç will prioritise the expansion of a modernised infrastructure, which has been a key focus for DHL Express in recent years. He will also emphasise employee engagement, leveraging his diverse experience and customer-centric approach to contribute to the success of DHL Express Germany. John Pearson commended Tonguç’s achievements, highlighting his expertise and leadership qualities as valuable assets for the company’s operations in Germany.
