The Ministry of Ports, Shipping & Waterways concluded Special Campaign 4.0, enhancing workspace cleanliness and productivity with sustainable initiatives.
The Ministry of Ports, Shipping & Waterways (MoPSW) successfully wrapped up its Special Campaign 4.0, held from October 2 to October 31, 2024. The campaign achieved notable improvements in Swachhta (cleanliness) and pendency reduction across the Ministry and its organisations.
During this period, over 1.29 lakh files were reviewed, resulting in the disposal of 1.01 lakh redundant files, which freed up around 68,916 square feet of office space and generated Rs. 4.62 crores in scrap revenue. The Ministry also organised 369 cleanliness drives and simplified 13 operational rules to enhance workflow efficiency.
Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal expressed the Ministry’s commitment to fostering a cleaner, more efficient environment while supporting community-orientated eco-initiatives. Unique projects, like converting office waste into manure, creating art from waste, and beach sand art, highlighted the Ministry’s dedication to sustainability.
Additionally, school involvement in cleanliness drives, the distribution of eco-friendly bags in markets, and palm seed planting to prevent lightning strikes underscored the Ministry’s focus on community engagement and environmental responsibility. Through these measures, MoPSW has furthered its mission for a greener, more responsible future in alignment with Swachh Bharat’s ideals.
