In a commendable gesture towards advancing Meghalaya’s infrastructure, Methina Farida Marak, the Nokma of Resu A’king, Resubelpara, has generously donated 106 acres of land to the Meghalaya Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC). This land will serve as the foundation for a modern logistics park, poised to revolutionise the logistics sector in the state and propel its overall economic growth.
Expressing heartfelt gratitude, James P.K. Sangma, Chairman of MIDC, commended the Nokma and her clan for their collaborative spirit in this transformative endeavour. He emphasised the pivotal role the logistics park would play in enhancing the state’s logistical capabilities, thereby reducing costs, pollution, and congestion while improving efficiency and traceability.
Abraham V J, Chairperson of the Nokma Advisory Committee, lauded the project’s significance in local youth development, citing it as the largest initiative undertaken under the Nokma’s leadership. He expressed delight in partnering with MIDC, foreseeing immense opportunities for community growth and empowerment.
