Maersk’s new 225,000 sq. m. logistics park, valued at $250 million, opens in Jeddah.
A.P. Moller – Maersk, in partnership with Saudi Arabia’s General Ports Authority ‘Mawani,’ has inaugurated the largest single-site logistics facility in the Middle East at Jeddah Islamic Port. This $250 million, 225,000 sq. m. facility promises to boost the efficiency of Saudi Arabia’s logistics sector and support economic growth.
The grand opening was attended by key figures including Saudi Minister of Transport Engineer Saleh bin Nasser Al-Jasser, Maersk CEO Vincent Clerc, and senior officials from Unilever and Maersk. The facility offers integrated logistics solutions including multi-modal transport, warehousing, and temperature-controlled storage.
It features sustainability initiatives such as solar panels and electric trucks, aligning with Maersk’s goal to achieve Net Zero emissions by 2040. The park will also support local talent through a women’s academy and emphasises safety with advanced firefighting systems and surveillance.
