Maersk highlights India’s role in driving its global digital transformation at Code Cargo 2025 in Bengaluru.

A.P. Moller – Maersk unveiled cutting-edge technologies at its flagship technology showcase, Code Cargo 2025, held in Bengaluru on 10 September. The event brought together global leaders, engineers, and industry stakeholders to highlight how Maersk is reshaping logistics with artificial intelligence, data science, and platform engineering.
A key highlight was Star Connect, an AI-powered fleet energy efficiency platform that uses edge computing to process 2.5 billion IoT data points in real time. The system forecasts fuel use, wind resistance, and risks such as parametric roll, helping operators make rapid course and speed adjustments. This innovation supports both operational safety and Maersk’s decarbonisation goals.
Navneet Kapoor, Executive Vice President and Chief Technology & Information Officer, emphasised India’s role as the “brain and backbone” of Maersk’s global transformation, with Bengaluru’s Technology Centre driving innovation across AI, software, and cybersecurity.
Maersk employs over 20,000 Indians, including nearly 2,900 technology professionals across major cities. Its Indian operations cover 15 ports, 26 warehouses, 55 customs facilities, and 10 airports, handling almost 1 million containers annually while enabling India’s global trade ambitions.
