At CargoNXT Summit, experts urged reforms and a digital push to make logistics the backbone of India’s Vision 2047 economy.

The 4th Edition of CargoNXT Logistics & SCM Summit, held on September 5 in New Delhi, opened with the session “Blueprint 2047: Logistics as the Backbone of a Developed India.”
The discussion underlined that despite its crucial role, logistics still lacks formal industry recognition in several states, limiting access to financing, policy incentives, and skill development.


Shri Dushyant Mulani, Chairman of FFFAI, facilitated the session, which emphasised bridging gaps in the National Logistics Policy through a unified multimodal framework and dedicated corridors.

- Shri Sagar Kadu, Director – Logistics, DPIIT, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India
- Dr. Vandana Aggarwal, Chairperson, IFSCA Standing Committee on Finance for Aviation & Shipping, Gift City
Speakers stressed that logistics will be central to India’s $5 trillion economy and its Vision 2047 goals, with priorities on reducing costs, expanding infrastructure, and embracing digital transformation.
Smt. Padma Jaiswal, IAS, highlighted the need for state-level policy alignment, while Dr. Jaideep Gupta and Shri Surendra Ahirwar from the Railway Board stressed rail electrification and commercial efficiency. Shri Sagar Kadu from DPIIT called for faster policy execution, and Dr. Vandana Aggarwal underscored financial innovation to strengthen global competitiveness.
The session concluded with a shared vision of logistics as the backbone of a future-ready India.
