Ingka Group, IKEA’s parent retailer, acquires AI logistics firm Locus to enhance global home delivery efficiency.

Ingka Investments, the investment arm of Ingka Group, has acquired Locus, a leading AI-powered logistics software company, to strengthen IKEA’s digital fulfilment capabilities and transform its home delivery experience.
Headquartered in the U.S. with major operations in India, Locus provides an advanced AI logistics management platform offering route optimisation, real-time tracking, and smart fleet utilisation. Integrating these technologies will help IKEA enhance supply chain efficiency, streamline last-mile execution, and accelerate deliveries worldwide.
According to Tolga Öncü, Head of IKEA Retail (Ingka Group), bringing Locus’s technology in-house gives IKEA greater control over a critical part of the customer journey, ensuring faster and more flexible deliveries.
In India, the acquisition will help IKEA strengthen its One IKEA approach by simplifying supply chain operations, supporting higher home delivery volumes, and making logistics more sustainable.
Patrik Antoni, CEO, IKEA India, said the integration will make services “more affordable, sustainable, and faster.” Locus will continue to operate independently while expanding globally, contributing to IKEA’s broader digital transformation and e-commerce growth strategy.
