Mumbai Airport names Indo Thai Airport Services as interim ground handler after Celebi’s exit over security clearance.

Mumbai International Airport (MIAL), operated by Adani Group, has appointed Indo Thai Airport Services as the interim ground handling agency for Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport. The decision follows the termination of Celebi NAS’s concession after the Union Government revoked the Turkish firm’s security clearance due to national security concerns.
Indo Thai, already operating at nine Indian airports, will manage ground operations at Mumbai Airport for three months starting immediately. A joint meeting with airline partners has been held to ensure a smooth transition. MIAL has assured there will be no job losses, stating that all existing Celebi NAS employees at the airport will be transferred to Indo Thai under the same employment terms. Additionally, Indo Thai will lease Celebi’s ground handling equipment to maintain service continuity.
The airport will initiate a Request for Proposal (RFP) within three days to select a long-term ground handling partner. This interim measure ensures uninterrupted logistics and operational services at India’s second-largest airport during the transition period.
