India has welcomed ongoing ceasefire efforts in the Middle East while reiterating that dialogue and diplomacy remain essential for achieving lasting peace.

At a recent United Nations engagement, India’s Permanent Representative emphasised the need for sustained diplomatic engagement between the concerned parties.
India called for an immediate ceasefire alongside unimpeded humanitarian assistance, including the delivery of essential supplies such as food and fuel to affected regions. The statement also highlighted the importance of securing the release of hostages and addressing the humanitarian situation on the ground.
Reaffirming its long-standing position, India stressed that there is no alternative to dialogue and diplomacy in resolving conflicts. It also underlined the importance of advancing a two-state solution to ensure durable peace and stability in the region.
India further expressed readiness to support international efforts aimed at facilitating practical solutions and improving conditions for civilians affected by the conflict, while continuing to engage with global partners on peace initiatives.
