In a strategic alliance, the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) has initiated a collaborative effort with the World Bank to redefine India’s logistics landscape.
The meeting, led by Special Secretary (Logistics) Sumita Dawra, showcased an array of initiatives and upcoming reforms designed to enhance India’s logistics efficiency and global competitiveness. The focus was on a comprehensive action plan, backed by significant big data initiatives, aimed at improving India’s position in the esteemed World Bank Logistics Performance Index.
The meeting emphasised transformative practices, including digitisation at Integrated Check Posts, railway track electrification, and the launch of NLP Marine—a national maritime single-window platform.
The strategic collaboration with the World Bank marks a significant step toward positioning India as a logistics powerhouse on the global stage.
