Adani Enterprises deploys India’s first hydrogen fuel cell truck in Chhattisgarh, set to revolutionise mining logistics with zero emissions, carrying 40 tons of cargo.

India’s first hydrogen fuel cell truck, aimed at promoting cleaner transportation for mining logistics, has been deployed at a Chhattisgarh government coal block by Adani Enterprises. Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai flagged off the truck, which will transport coal from the Gare Pelma III Block to a state power plant.
Adani Enterprises, appointed as the mine developer and operator by Chhattisgarh State Power Generation Company Limited, is collaborating with an Indian and international energy technology firm and a major auto manufacturer to develop these hydrogen fuel cell battery-operated trucks. Each truck can carry up to 40 tons of cargo over a 200-kilometre range, emitting only water vapour and warm air with minimal noise, matching diesel trucks in capability.
The deployment of these trucks will gradually replace diesel vehicles in Adani’s logistics operations, significantly reducing emissions, noise pollution, India’s crude oil imports, and its carbon footprint. Adani Natural Resources has also deployed Dozer Push Semi-Autonomous Technology, further enhancing safety and sustainability in its mining operations.
