India and Japan deepen ties to enhance supply chains, logistics infrastructure, and bilateral trade under a new strategic partnership.

India and Japan have unveiled a strategic roadmap to reinforce supply chains, strengthen logistics, and boost bilateral trade. Under the Next Generation Economic Security Partnership, both nations will focus on resilient supply chains for key sectors, including semiconductors, critical minerals, clean energy, telecom, pharmaceuticals, and batteries.
The plan also highlights market diversification and industrial competitiveness, with initiatives to enhance product quality for exports, promote agribusiness, and expand the role of trade and investment promotion agencies.
On the logistics front, the partnership emphasises infrastructure and mobility cooperation through high-speed rail, metro, and road networks, as well as cold-chain logistics services to support food and pharmaceutical transportation.
Additionally, both countries will work towards manufacturing in India for global markets, further strengthening EXIM linkages and positioning India as a hub for supply chain resilience.
