India and Cyprus commit to strengthening logistics, shipping, and trade ties under a shared regional connectivity vision.

India and Cyprus have agreed to deepen trade and logistics cooperation as part of a joint declaration signed during Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s visit to Cyprus on 15–16 June 2025. Both countries emphasised the strategic potential of the India–Middle East–Europe Economic Corridor (IMEC) in fostering economic integration and sustainable development.
Recognising Cyprus’ role as a gateway into Europe, both sides explored opportunities for Indian shipping companies to establish operations in Cyprus. They also proposed joint ventures between Indian and Cyprus-based maritime service providers to enhance transshipment, distribution, and regional supply chain connectivity.
The declaration highlighted Cyprus’ potential as a logistics hub and called for increased maritime cooperation, including port visits, joint training, and expanded shipping networks. The leaders committed to supporting EU–India trade dialogue and accelerating progress on the India–EU Free Trade Agreement by the end of 2025.
A Cyprus–India Business Forum and high-level business delegation visit are planned to further boost investment and innovation partnerships, with focus on sectors like digital infrastructure, AI, and startup collaboration.
