The Ministry of Mines, Government of India, celebrates the monumental agreement between Khanij Bidesh India (KABIL) and Argentina’s state-owned enterprise, CATAMARCA MINERA Y ENERGÉTICA SOCIEDAD DEL ESTADO (CAMYEN SE).
KABIL, in its maiden lithium venture, is set to explore and develop five lithium brine blocks spanning 15,703 hectares in Argentina’s Catamarca province. The project, valued at approximately 200 crores, marks KABIL’s foray into lithium exploration, signaling a strategic move to secure a diversified supply chain for critical minerals.
With exploration and exclusivity rights granted, KABIL aims to leverage Argentina’s significant lithium resources, positioning India favorably in the global lithium landscape. The partnership not only fortifies bilateral ties but also contributes to sustainable mining sector development.
In essence, the collaboration enhances the energy transition agenda while also underscoring the commitment to resilient and diversified mineral supply chains crucial for various industries.
