Gujarat clears ₹7,737 crore for 124 road projects, including nine high-speed corridors spanning 809 km.

In a major push toward modernising its transport network, the Gujarat government has approved ₹7,737 crore for 124 road infrastructure projects under the Viksit Gujarat Mission. The decision, cleared by Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, marks a significant stride in improving road connectivity, safety, and logistics efficiency across the state.
A substantial ₹5,576 crore, the largest share of funding, will be directed toward constructing nine “Garvi Gujarat” High-Speed Corridors covering a total of 809 kilometres. Developed under the PM Gati Shakti framework, these corridors aim to decongest existing routes, accelerate freight movement, and provide faster, safer inter-city travel.
Among the key corridors sanctioned are:
- Bagodara–Dhandhuka–Barwala–Botad (₹67.43 crore)
- Unjha–Patan–Shihori–Deodar–Bhabhar (₹858.39 crore)
- Dehgam–Bayad–Lunawada–Santrampur–Zalod (₹1,514.41 crore)
Additional routes include Ahmedabad–Harsol–Gambhoi–Vijayanagar, Santrampur–Morwa Hadaf–Santroad, and Santroad–Devgadh Baria–Chhota Udepur, expanding strategic road connectivity across urban and rural belts.
To promote sustainability and durability, ₹1,147 crore has been earmarked for 20 climate-resilient and technology-driven projects covering 271 km. These will integrate advanced techniques such as whitetopping, geogrid and glass grid reinforcement, cement stabilisation, and innovative use of fly ash and waste plastic.
Additionally, ₹986 crore has been allocated for 79 road upgrade projects to improve the surface quality of 803 km of existing roads, ensuring smoother and safer travel for commuters and freight carriers.
As per the 2025 state budget, Gujarat plans to develop 12 new high-speed corridors under the Garvi Gujarat initiative, of which nine have now been greenlit. Once completed, these projects are expected to significantly reduce travel time, enhance logistics efficiency, boost tourism, and drive regional economic growth.
With this investment, Gujarat continues to reinforce its position as one of India’s infrastructure front-runners, integrating sustainability, speed, and smart technology into its development roadmap.
