Piyush Goyal chairs a key meeting with Export Promotion Councils to review reforms, export performance, and address industry concerns.

In a significant move to strengthen India’s export momentum, Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Shri Piyush Goyal chaired a high-level meeting with Export Promotion Councils (EPCs) and major Industry Associations at Vanijya Bhawan, New Delhi, on October 29, 2025.
The meeting saw active participation from senior officials representing the Department of Commerce, Department of Revenue, and DPIIT, alongside leaders from diverse industry segments. Detailed presentations by the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) highlighted major reforms undertaken during the first half of FY 2025–26, upcoming trade-facilitation measures, and the country’s export performance trends.
Industry representatives discussed key challenges, shared feedback on the government’s export diversification achievements, and expressed expectations for further reforms to boost global competitiveness.
Leaders from sectors including textiles, apparel, engineering, gems & jewellery, medical devices, pharmaceuticals, telecom, leather, and services, as well as prominent bodies such as FIEO, CII, FICCI, ASSOCHAM, PHDCCI, SIAM, EPCH, and NASSCOM, appreciated the Ministry’s role in expanding Indian exporters’ global access and improving the ease of doing business.
Reaffirming the government’s stance, Shri Goyal stressed the commitment to strengthening a facilitative trade ecosystem, simplifying business processes, and unlocking new market opportunities for Indian exporters worldwide.
