Govt reinstates RoDTEP for AA, SEZ, and EOU exports from 1st June 2025 to boost competitiveness and export parity.

The Government of India has reinstated the RoDTEP (Remission of Duties and Taxes on Exported Products) benefits for Advance Authorization (AA) holders, Export-Oriented Units (EOUs), and Special Economic Zones (SEZs), effective from 1st June 2025. This move is aimed at strengthening India’s export ecosystem and ensuring parity across export sectors.
Earlier benefits for these categories were discontinued after 5th February 2025. Their reinstatement marks a renewed push to enhance India’s global trade competitiveness.
Operational since 1st January 2021, the RoDTEP scheme reimburses exporters for embedded taxes and levies not covered under other schemes, aligning with WTO norms.
For FY 2025–26, the government has allocated Rs. 18,233 crore under RoDTEP, covering 10,780 HS lines for DTA exports and 10,795 lines for AA/EOU/SEZ exports. As of 31st March 2025, disbursements under the scheme have crossed Rs. 57,976 crore, affirming its critical role in trade promotion.
The decision underscores the government’s sustained efforts to create a competitive, transparent, and inclusive export environment.
