Godrej & Boyce, a subsidiary of the Godrej Group, has announced its intention to invest Rs 250 crore in setting up a new facility in Khalapur, Maharashtra. The new facility aims to expand the company’s operations and will have four times the area of its existing facility in Vikhroli.
Anil G Varma, Executive Director & CEO, stated that the increased capacity will cater to market demand and accommodate new launches. He stated, “With four times the area of the existing facility of Vikhroli, the production capacity of the new facility will be four times as per the demand and as per the launches as the capacity is not the problem. The new facility will not be restricted to aerospace, it will be for multiple businesses. We also aim to integrate more new products in the upcoming facility”
Godrej Aerospace, known for its expertise in manufacturing critical components for space projects, has already contributed to prestigious missions such as Chandrayaan and Mangalyaan. The company’s partnerships with Rolls-Royce, Boeing, and GE enable the design and production of vital parts for the civil aviation industry. Maneck Behramkamdin, AVP & Business Head at Godrej Aerospace, emphasised the positive impact of these efforts on India’s manufacturing capabilities and export potential in the aerospace industry.
