Gateway Distriparks completes the first double-stack train from MMLP Ankleshwar to ICD Garhi, boosting connectivity.

Gateway Distriparks (GDL) has achieved a key logistics milestone with the successful launch of its first double-stack train service from Multimodal Logistics Park Ankleshwar to Inland Container Depot Garhi on October 15, 2025. The inaugural train carried a mix of EXIM and domestic containers, establishing a seamless hub-and-spoke cargo movement between JNPT and North India.
This service marks GDL’s entry into domestic cargo operations from Ankleshwar, further strengthening its integrated logistics network and bridging key industrial hubs in western and northern India.
“There is tremendous potential to expand this service, and we are truly excited for what lies ahead,” said Samvid Gupta, Joint Managing Director, Gateway Distriparks. “This initiative reinforces our commitment to providing seamless, cost-effective, and sustainable logistics solutions across India.”
Strategic Connectivity Boost
This double-stack train service is expected to play a crucial role in decongesting highways, reducing transit time, and enabling more efficient movement of cargo between manufacturing clusters and consumption markets. It also aligns with India’s push toward multimodal logistics and improved inland connectivity.
GDL plans to commence EXIM operations from Ankleshwar at the start of the next financial year, coinciding with the upcoming Dedicated Freight Corridor connectivity to Nhava Sheva. This will enhance double-stack capabilities and offer faster cargo movement between ports and industrial centres.
