Flipkart’s SCOA targets 16,000 trained candidates by 2025, fostering an e-commerce-ready workforce.
Flipkart is ramping up its efforts to build a skilled e-commerce workforce with the Supply Chain Operations Academy (SCOA), targeting 16,000 upskilled candidates by 2025. In 2024 alone, SCOA successfully trained and certified over 3,000 candidates, including 600 women, reflecting Flipkart’s commitment to inclusive growth and addressing the demand for skilled professionals in the e-commerce sector.
Established in 2021, SCOA offers free, industry-relevant training, empowering youth from underserved communities to thrive in the rapidly growing e-commerce industry. The program offers hands-on experience at Flipkart’s facilities, paired with online classroom sessions, preparing candidates for critical roles in warehousing, retail, and supply chain management.
Hemant Badri, Senior Vice President of Supply Chain, Customer Experience, and Re-Commerce, highlighted Flipkart’s dedication to shaping the future of the industry: “SCOA not only helps individuals gain valuable skills, but it also addresses the pressing need for a qualified workforce in the e-commerce sector.”
The curriculum, including a Warehouse Associate Training Module, is designed to equip participants with practical skills for positions such as picker, packer, sorter, data entry operator, and quality check executive. The initiative is particularly focused on youth, women, people with disabilities, defence personnel, and the transgender community, ensuring equal opportunities and diversity in the workforce.
With this initiative, Flipkart continues its efforts to support local businesses and contribute to India’s inclusive economic growth, training thousands across the country to meet the evolving demands of the e-commerce sector.
