Flipkart expands its infrastructure in Uttar Pradesh with two new fulfillment centers.
Flipkart has inaugurated two new fulfillment centres (FCs) in Uttar Pradesh, including a sortation center and a grocery FC in Varanasi and another sortation center in Unnao. These facilities, covering over 5 lakh sq. ft., were virtually inaugurated by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. This expansion aims to enhance delivery efficiency across multiple pin codes and create over 3,600 direct and indirect jobs.
The new centres will offer a broad range of products, from local to established brands, streamlining delivery and supporting economic growth in the state. Chief Minister Adityanath highlighted Flipkart’s significant investment as a testament to Uttar Pradesh’s emerging status as an industrial hub. He emphasised the centers’ role in generating employment and empowering MSMEs by providing a pan-India reach.
Rajneesh Kumar, Chief Corporate Affairs Officer at Flipkart, praised the state’s conducive business environment and its rapid e-commerce adoption. He stated that Flipkart’s investments aim to bolster local communities, MSMEs, farmers, and ancillary businesses. Over the years, Flipkart has created over 7 lakh jobs in the state and supported the ODOP program, recording over ₹1,600 crores in sales of district-specific products. With these new FCs, Flipkart continues to enhance its supply chain and customer experience across India.
