Logistics and e-commerce lead job surge, as Apna.co reports festive hiring boost.
Apna.co has reported 2.16 lakh job postings this festive season, reflecting a 20 percent increase from last year’s 1.8 lakh. Key sectors driving this hiring wave include logistics, e-commerce, retail, and hospitality, as companies look to meet renewed consumer demand following a summer and election-related spending slowdown.
Logistics and operations saw the most substantial growth, with a 70 percent rise in job postings, followed by retail and e-commerce at 30 percent. Demand for roles such as warehouse managers, logistics associates, and delivery drivers soared, with companies like Rapido, Delhivery, Ekart, and Shiprocket posting over 30,000 openings.
The retail and e-commerce sectors added 18,000 roles, including category growth managers and sales associates, as they worked to enhance customer experience and drive sales beyond previous years’ figures.
This hiring uptick also spans Tier-II and Tier-III cities, which saw a 25 percent increase in postings. Growing urbanisation, expanding malls, and increased consumer spending in cities like Lucknow, Ahmedabad, and Jaipur are accelerating job opportunities beyond metro hubs.
