Leading exporters and Export Promotion Councils have asked the government to maintain the present Foreign Trade Policy (2015–20), which has occasionally been extended.
Exporters and industry groups have recently urged the government to extend the present policy for a while and conduct additional consultations before releasing the new policy in light of the current, unstable global economic and geopolitical situation.
The government has always included all interested parties in the policy-making process. Due to this, it has been agreed to extend the Foreign Trade Policy 2015–20, which is now in effect through September 30, 2022, for an additional six months beginning on October 1st, 2022.
