ESL’s new IEX service is to launch in November, connecting India with North Egypt and Türkiye.
Emirates Shipping Line (ESL) has announced the upcoming launch of its India East Mediterranean Express (IEX) service, set to start in early November. This new service will be the first in the market to provide a direct maritime link between India and key destinations in the East Mediterranean, including North Egypt and Southern Türkiye.
According to ESL, the IEX service aims to provide more efficient and accessible network options for regions that have historically seen limited direct shipping services. Customers from the Far East, Southeast Asia, and other parts of India can now access the East Mediterranean region via Mundra Port. Additionally, customers in the Middle East will have access to the IEX service through the Jeddah port, enhancing connectivity.
With the IEX launch, ESL has also made minor modifications to its Gulf Red Sea Corridor (GRC) service rotation to maintain optimal coverage and frequency. The revised GRC rotation will now operate through Jebel Ali, Jeddah, Aqaba, Sokhna, and back to Jebel Ali.
The IEX service rotation will cover Mundra, Jeddah, Alexandria, Mersin, Iskenderun, then back to Jeddah and Mundra. Both the new IEX and modified GRC services are scheduled to commence departures in early November, marking an expansion of ESL’s network offerings for Indian and East Mediterranean trade routes.
