DTDC opens all-women dark store in Indore, enabling 2-hour deliveries and strengthening rapid commerce innovation.

In a landmark move blending innovation with inclusivity, DTDC Express, one of India’s leading integrated logistics companies, has unveiled its first all-women-operated dark store in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. The 700 sq. ft facility is part of DTDC Raftaar, the company’s rapid commerce service promising delivery turnarounds as fast as two hours.
The facility was inaugurated by Ajay Sukhwani, Vice President & Head of Integrated E-commerce Logistics, along with Jayant Parekh, Regional Business Head. Entirely staffed and managed by women, the operation spans warehouse management, last-mile delivery, cash-on-delivery handling, and frontline client servicing, an empowering first for the company’s expanding network.
Built to scale, the Indore dark store can fulfil client-specific demands ranging from two-to-six-hour deliveries. The women-led team completed comprehensive training on DTDC’s Warehouse Management System, Last-Mile Delivery App, and rapid commerce protocols to ensure precision in a growing, time-sensitive e-commerce environment.
“We proudly call it our Dream Store,” said Abhishek Chakraborty, CEO, DTDC Express “Empowering women isn’t just about inclusion; it’s about building stronger, more agile teams. This store proves that operational excellence can thrive alongside human-centric values.”
As DTDC enters its 35th year, Chakraborty highlighted rising demand from Tier 2 and Tier 3 markets. He noted that “shared Dream Stores” and smarter unit economics will make same-day delivery viable across key categories such as electronics, fashion, and health supplements. Under DTDC Raftaar, brands can now access “dark store as a service” without heavy upfront logistics costs.
Reflecting on the milestone, Ankita Tiwari, Chief Human Resources Officer, added, “We’re not just opening facilities; we’re opening doors of opportunity. This all-women dark store stands as a symbol of capability, confidence, and the limitless potential of inclusive workplaces.”
DTDC currently operates dark stores across major Tier 1 and Tier 2 cities, including Delhi, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Cochin, Bhopal, Kanpur, Nagpur, Udaipur, and Meerut, reinforcing its rapidly growing express logistics presence nationwide.
With this pioneering move in Indore, DTDC strengthens its commitment to women’s empowerment, rapid commerce innovation, and future-ready logistics solutions.
