Secretary DPIIT chairs meeting on Karnataka, Kerala, Telangana projects, focusing on faster issue resolution.

Shri Amardeep Singh Bhatia, Secretary, Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), chaired a high-level review of mega infrastructure projects across Karnataka, Kerala, and Telangana, collectively valued over INR 10,000 crore. The meeting, attended by senior officials from Central Ministries, State Governments, and project proponents, aimed at expediting issue resolution through enhanced coordination under the Project Monitoring Group (PMG).
In Karnataka, five projects worth INR 3,658 crore were reviewed, while Kerala’s two projects totaled INR 5,002 crore and Telangana’s three projects amounted to INR 1,934 crore. Key discussions included the Trivandrum–Kanyakumari railway line doubling project and Reliance Jio’s 5G/4G expansion initiative, focusing on land acquisition, environmental clearances, and forest/wildlife approvals.
The Secretary emphasised proactive engagement by authorities and private stakeholders, urging full utilisation of PMG mechanisms. The meeting underlined the Government’s commitment to strengthening institutional frameworks, ensuring timely execution, and enhancing regional connectivity, digital infrastructure, and socio-economic development across southern India.
