MoU to empower 1 million Tier II, III, and rural entrepreneurs using AI, regional content, and tech tools

The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with YourStory Media to accelerate inclusive entrepreneurship across India. This strategic partnership targets one million aspiring entrepreneurs in Tier II, Tier III, and rural regions.
Under the collaboration, the initiative, dubbed the Bharat Project, will leverage digital tools, regional content, and AI-driven platforms to build a more accessible and robust startup ecosystem. Entrepreneurs will gain access to venture launchpads, networking opportunities, and success stories in regional languages.
The partnership will also tap into major startup events and tech platforms to enable innovation showcases, founder-investor interactions, and development in high-potential sectors like AI, GenAI, blockchain, and data.
DPIIT Joint Secretary Sanjiv Singh highlighted the importance of inclusive growth, emphasising how the initiative will connect underserved founders to key resources and knowledge. The MoU was signed by DPIIT Deputy Secretary Rajesh Kumar and YourStory CEO Shradha Sharma in the presence of senior officials.
