CONCOR and SCI join forces to offer seamless end-to-end logistics solutions.
Container Corporation of India (CONCOR) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Shipping Corporation of India (SCI) in Delhi, with senior officials from both companies present. CONCOR, known for its vast container train fleet and extensive terminal network, aims to leverage SCI’s diverse shipping services. SCI stands as the sole Indian company offering comprehensive shipping services, including international container and bulk services.
The collaboration aims to harness both companies’ infrastructure and expertise, providing cost-effective and integrated logistics solutions. Sanjay Swarup, CMD of CONCOR, highlighted that this partnership would enable CONCOR to expand internationally and venture into coastal and inland waterways trade. This initiative is expected to enhance multimodal transportation, covering ocean, rail, road, and inland waterways, thereby improving port-to-last-mile connectivity.
Founded in 1988, CONCOR operates over 60 terminals across India, managing inland transport by rail, ports, air cargo complexes, and cold-chain logistics. Despite a recent 5.88 percent drop in share price, CONCOR remains a significant player with a market cap exceeding INR 60,000 crore and a strong dividend payout history. The company’s shares have risen 60 percent from their 52-week low, making it a noteworthy mid-cap stock for investors.
