CII launches Logistics for All to create 1.7 crore jobs by 2030, bridging skill gaps and boosting India’s global logistics role.

In a strategic move to position India as a global logistics hub, the Chennai-based CII Institute of Logistics has launched the Logistics for All initiative. This program aims to unite key stakeholders, create employment opportunities, and strengthen India’s role in global supply chains.
With the rapid growth of e-commerce, manufacturing, and Global Capability Centres (GCCs), India’s logistics sector is expected to generate 1.5 to 1.7 crore jobs by 2030. The initiative will focus on bridging the skills gap and fostering technology adoption to meet industry demands. According to the CII Institute of Logistics, job growth in this sector is currently at 6% to 7% annually. The initiative is designed to equip students and professionals across various fields with the necessary skills to thrive in a technology-driven logistics landscape.
Artificial intelligence (AI) and automation are playing a transformative role in modern logistics, enabling real-time tracking, predictive analytics, and AI-driven warehouse management. The Logistics for All initiative seeks to extend these opportunities beyond metro cities, ensuring a wider talent pool from Tier 2 and Tier 3 regions.
The CII Institute of Logistics, which spearheads this initiative, serves as a bridge between industry and academia. Its training programs address regional employment needs and work to close the skill gap between rural and urban areas. Regular curriculum updates, guided by industry professionals, ensure the program remains aligned with evolving market requirements.
By integrating cutting-edge technologies and expanding workforce development beyond urban centres, the Logistics for All initiative aims to make India a powerhouse in global logistics while empowering its workforce for the future.
