How was the International Symposium—Maritime Single Window 2024?
We attended the IMO-IAPH Maritime Single Window Symposium in London as members of IAPH and IPCSA. This event brought together institutions, governments, port authorities, industry groups, ship-owners, and solution providers from around the world to examine the benefits and potential for maritime trade that the Maritime Single Window (MSW) program provides. As an MSW solution provider, this was an ideal place for us to contact the appropriate stakeholders in order to raise awareness, provide technical help, and educate on its importance in the net zero initiative.
We are providing a free PoC to all IAPH, IPCSA, and IMO members.
Could you chart the expansion of the logistics e-Marketplace?
The logistics industry has traditionally relied on manual operations, resulting in highly fragmented operations and a siloed infrastructure. However, as organisations invest in logistics e-marketplace suites, the trend is gradually picking up. An e-Marketplace is a platform that connects service providers and service receivers in a single frame. Doing so increases the possibilities of interaction between the two entities. This increases the utility of the suite and attracts several service providers and receivers to the system. Fundamentally, more load matching for businesses can be possible irrespective of business type, borders, capacity, modes, etc.
What are some of the conventional logistics practices that one must adhere to in order to have a strong core/foundation in the current tech-driven world?
A solid foundation is created by building on the core. This also applies to the logistics industry. Digital transformation, automation, robotics, data clouds, and cargo community systems are all based on this foundation of people and stakeholders at all levels applying skill and experience to their tasks.
Could you please provide some suggestions for improving the operational efficiency of the cargo community and systems?
We envision Cargo Community Systems (CCS) as the digital transformation trend in airports and ports around the world. CCS provides a genuine logistics single window for existing issues such as traffic congestion, longer stay times, paperwork, and supply chain transparency. Our consumers have been incredibly pleased with the outcomes of these projects across multiple sites. CCS enables supply chain stakeholders to “do more with less,” which is especially useful in situations where it is difficult to find skilled personnel for logistics players.

Technology implementation can be difficult. To realise its full potential, businesses must be able to properly integrate it into their present operations. Otherwise, one risks needlessly overhauling the entire system, which would require additional time and effort. When integrating new technology into current systems, Kale strives for the least amount of interruption and training.
